SAMENTA Northern Region Leaders Meet Consul-General of Japan in Penang to Explore SME Collaboration
SAMENTA Northern Region leaders today met with Mr. Machida Shinya, Consul-General of Japan in Penang, at the YGL Penang office for a productive business discussion focused on strengthening connections between Japan and Malaysian SMEs.
The meeting, hosted at YGL’s Penang office, covered a wide range of potential collaboration areas between Japanese and Malaysian small and medium enterprises, including trade, technology exchange, investment and market access. Both sides expressed strong interest in building closer business ties and exploring new opportunities for SMEs in Penang and across Malaysia.
SAMENTA’s Northern Region leadership shared insights on the local SME landscape and the association’s ongoing efforts to support business growth and digital transformation, while the Consul-General highlighted Japan’s interest in deepening economic engagement with Malaysian SMEs.
