SAMENTA Convenes 3rd National Council Meeting, Moves to Establish National Working Groups

Kuala Lumpur, 11 September 2026 — SAMENTA convened its 3rd National Council Meeting on 11 September 2026, bringing together Council members from across Malaysia to review the association’s national programmes and set priorities for the months ahead.

The meeting centred on strengthening SAMENTA’s national delivery structure. The Council formally established national working groups to drive priority areas, giving each focus area a dedicated team with clear ownership and a direct reporting line back to the Council.

Council members also reviewed progress on SAMENTA’s ongoing nationwide programmes, including the Hyperlokal AI Fest tour, which continues to bring practical AI adoption sessions and government–industry dialogue to SMEs across the country.

Preparations for the Ruby Anniversary Dinner

The Council also discussed preparations for SAMENTA’s Ruby Anniversary Dinner, which marks 40 years since the association was founded in 1986. The gala — themed “40 Years of Legacy and Vision” — is set for 21 October 2026 at M World Hotel, Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya.

Council members reviewed the event programme, table and sponsorship arrangements, and the guest list ahead of the celebration, which will bring together SAMENTA’s members, council, partners and long-standing supporters from across the country.

With the national working groups now in place, each group will form its own working committee to carry the agenda forward. The mandate is clear: make tangible progress on the ground, expand SAMENTA’s reach and membership across the country, and strengthen the association’s standing as the collective voice of Malaysian SMEs. The new structure is designed to convert national priorities into measurable, region-by-region outcomes.

SAMENTA — the first association of small and medium enterprises in Malaysia — has served Malaysian SMEs since 1986.
