SAMENTA Champions Malaysian Construction SMEs at Yangtze River Delta Conference
9 October 2026 — SAMENTA has reinforced the voice and role of Malaysian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the construction sector on the international stage, with Edwin Ng, National Deputy President of SAMENTA, representing the association at the Yangtze River Delta – Intelligent Construction & Construction Robot Global Conference & Green & Low-Carbon Exhibition.
Ng delivered an address titled “Current Status & Prospects of Construction SMEs in Malaysia”, setting out the current landscape of the sector, the challenges Malaysian construction SMEs face, and the prospects ahead. He made the case for stronger innovation, wider adoption of smart technology and greener, lower-carbon construction practices.
Presenting Malaysia to delegates at the conference, he described a market with a funded pipeline, a gateway location and a green runway, and positioned local SMEs as the execution layer that makes it real — turning national plans and investment into delivered projects.
Building Together on the Global Stage
Under the message “Let’s build together”, SAMENTA’s participation in the conference reflects the association’s commitment to carrying the voice of Malaysian SMEs onto international platforms, while opening new doors for knowledge sharing, technology transfer and partnership in the construction sector.
The programme put construction SMEs in touch with the latest developments in intelligent construction and construction robotics — areas where Malaysian firms can plug into regional supply chains and build new collaborations. Ng closed by inviting delegates to connect with SAMENTA through samenta.org.my.
SAMENTA continues to champion the empowerment of Malaysian SMEs through innovation, technology and global collaboration.
