Penang Economic Summit 2026 — SAMENTA National President William Ng had the privilege of speaking at the Penang Economic Summit 2026 on a topic close to his heart: Innovation for SMEs.
For the bulk of the past 20 years, his focus has been championing the immediate issues facing Malaysian SMEs — primarily protecting them against rising costs and fighting for a better ease of doing business. However, as he shared, if we look at the bigger picture, the challenges our SMEs face are structural. Long-term resilience won’t come from just managing costs; it requires our businesses to move up the value chain. And at the core of that transformation is innovation.
William expressed his gratitude to RHB Group and the Penang Institute for the invitation to share these thoughts. It was a privilege to share the stage with an incredible panel:
